Security Forces-Maoist Confrontation in India: At Least 22 Security Personnel Killed
An awful fight between the security forces and the Maoist has taken place at Chhattisgadh, India. In the battle continuously run for nearly 4 hours, at least 22 security personnel were killed and the other 31 were injured.
According to the Indian news agencies, the Maoists had seized more than two dozens weapons from the security forces. At least 9 maoists were also killed in the battle. The confrontation had happened at Bijapur, nearly 400 kilometre away from the Chhattisgadh's capital, Rayapur.
The security forces consisting of more than 2 thousand security personnel from different bodies had started oppression against Naxalite on Saturday. As mentioned by the Indian news agencies, the Naxalite group had ambushed the security force before the fight had begun.
Previous to this, the Naxalite had attacked on a vehicle of the security force killing five security personnel last week. The security force on Saturday had taken the step as its reaction.
