Panjab Kings thrashed Royal Challengers Benglore (RCB) by 34 runs in the Friday's match of the ongoing Indian Premeir League (IPL).
Losing the toss, Punjab was invited to bat first. Punjab had made 179 runs with the help of Captain KL Rahul's not out 91 runs in 57 balls. Rahul had hit 5 sixes and 7 fours. Similarly, Crish Gayle had contributed 46 runs in 24 balls with the help of 2 sixes and 6 fours. Rahul and Gale had made 80 runs in parnership for the first wicket.
In the match, Benglor's Kyle Jamieson had taken 2 wickets, whereas, Daniel Sams, Yuzvendra Chahal and Shahbaj Ahmed each had taken a wicket.
Chasing the target of 180 runs, Banglore could collect only 145 in runs in all 20 overs in the loss of 8 wickets. Captain Birat Kohli had made the highest score of 35 runs, whereas, Rajat Patidar and Harshal Patel each had made 31 runs for tge team.
Punjab's Harpreet Brar had taken 3 wickets in four overs, keeping 1 over maiden and spending only 19 runs. Harpreet had taken the wickets of Kohli, Maxwell and de Villiers.
Likewise, Ravi Bishnoi had taken 2 wickets and, Crish Jordan and Mohhamed Shami each had taken a wicket.
With the victory, Punjab has stepped up to the 5th position in the IPL pionts table by collecting 6 points from 7 matches.
