The Ministry of Health and Population has stated that 7 thousand 660 new positive cases have been detected in Nepal in the last 24 hours. In the time mentioned, 55 infected people died pushing the death tally up to 3 thousand 417.

In the same time period, Kathmandu valley saw 3 thousand 893 new cases and among them, 2 thousand 779 in Kathmandu, 513 in Lalitpur and 601 in Bhaktapur were found positive.

The total number of active infected people till Tuesday has reached 59 thousands 798, among whom 616 are getting treatment in ICU, whereas, 179 are in ventilators.

As mentioned in the ministry's regular update, total number of positive cases has mounted up to 351 thousands and 5.

In the midst of rapid rise in Covid infection rate, the District Administration Offices of the Kathmandu valley decided on Tuesday to stretch the duration of the ongoing injuction till 29 Baisakh. The offices have also declared several additional measures so as to control the harsh impact of Covid-19.
